Gulch
After
Animas Forks, we took our time riding up to California Gulch. Glenn
had some vapor lock issues. Not having low range to run the engine at
higher revs will cause less air to draw through the radiator. Another
reason to have lower gears. Krista and Phoebe turned back about halfway
up because we discovered the "new" QT was not driving the
front driveshaft. No 4 wheel drive did not sound too healthy, so she
went back to the KOA. :(
After
some time to take in the view from the top, we dropped down to Lake
Como and met up with the gang that ran up Poughkeepsie Gulch. After
some Scout crunching from Scott, we trekked towards Hurricane Pass and
beyond to Corkscrew Pass.
